Carole
Charland
Carole is an ethnologist, semiotician, historian, marketer and qualitative research expert.
Prior to founding Sapiens Strategies, Carole spent three years as Vice President at MD Analytics and nine years as Associate Vice President at Ipsos Health, developing extensive expertise in qualitative healthcare and pharmaceutical market research. Her 21 years of research experience also includes multidisciplinary and epidemiological research at the Université de Montréal – Faculté de Médecine, and RRSSS Montreal – Centre – Public Health Unit, Infectious Diseases.
Although specialized in health, Carole has extensive experience in other sectors, such as consumer goods.
Carole is bilingual, based out of Montreal, and conducts interviews or group discussions in both English and French.
Her academic qualifications include an M.Sc. in anthropology of health and a B.A. in anthropology.

Karen is an anthropologist, program evaluator and qualitative research expert.
Before joining Sapiens Stratégies, Karen worked with PortiCo Research (Chicago/New York) as an analyst and project director for 15 years. She conducted research in the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, as well as global projects including Asian and Latin American countries.
Her research experience includes ethnographic research mandates within both the Anthropology and Psychology departments at the Université de Montréal, as well as research mandates on social enterprise and social finance at HEC and Concordia University.
In addition to her focus on health research, she also has expertise in automotive, hospitality/travel, consumer packaged goods, media usage, education and financial services.
Bilingual, Karen is based in Montreal and is able to conduct interviews and group discussions in English and French.
She has a M.Sc. in anthropology , a B.A. in anthropology & economics, and has a graduate diploma in management and sustainability.
